Owning Exotic Animals

With a gross domestic product (GDP) of over $105 billion in 2015, the people in Dubai know exactly how to flaunt their wealth. One way to do this is by owning wild exotic animals such as baboons, monkeys, and lions.

For a long time, owning the most expensive exotic wild animals was a symbol of wealth and prestige in Dubai. However, the government has now banned this because many of these animals were smuggled illegally from their natural habitats. Now, those who ignore the ban face six months in prison or a fine of $136,000.
