The Road Ahead

We hit the road with heavy hearts but determined minds. The car ride is long and tense, filled with quiet moments and thoughts neither of us voice aloud. The closer we get, the thicker the tension grows. This trip feels more symbolic than literal — a journey into the heart of a broken marriage.

“Do you think we’ll find proof?” Lisa finally breaks the silence. I grip the wheel a little tighter. “I hope we do,” I reply, though I’m not sure if hope is the right word anymore. What we find could shatter the last remnants of denial I’ve held onto. Still, we keep going. Because turning back isn’t an option.
