Desert Tortoises as Status Symbols
Rare desert tortoises are among the endangered species and are difficult to spot in the wild. But in Dubai, they seem to be becoming popular exotic pets – just like tigers or cheetahs.
This photo shows us a man presenting his riches in an unusual way: he is holding eight of these robust creatures, even stacked on top of each other, to take a spectacular photo. A trend that unfortunately pushes the precarious situation of the animal species into the background – and once again underlines the pronounced understanding of luxury in Dubai.
