Chronic lateness would quash any relationship possibility. I put up with it from a couple of friends of mine through the years until I had enough and said “Either be on time or [I’ll go without you] [you can find your own ride to the airport] [I’ll just turn around and go home],” and that put an end to it, so I know that people can do better.
People sometimes offer “time blindness” as an excuse, and my response to that is that we all have devices and equipment to sound alarms, so being late all the time is ultimately a choice and a sign of fundamental disrespect for my time.
