Clowns and Mazes
When it comes to things people love to hate, clowns often spring to mind. Although clowns are characters created for children, many kids actually experience a fear known as coulrophobia, the official term for a fear of clowns. In the photo below, we see a clown that appeared in the middle of a field in Huntsville, Alabama. It might feel like there’s nowhere to run and you’re being cornered by the clown.
In 2016, there were numerous reports of sightings of terrifying clowns in several areas of the United States. At the time, there was no evidence that these clowns actually attacked children; it was believed to be just a hoax, but many people claimed to have “seen terrifying clowns in impossible places.” The panic spread, and people began to believe they saw “clowns” even where there were none, which led to more people installing the latest home security systems.
