Seven Mile Bridge (USA)

The Seven Mile Bridge in Florida, USA, is a massive bridge stretching 10.887 km (6.76 miles) in total length. To put that into perspective, the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, said to be the longest bridge in Japan, is 4,425m (2.75 miles) long, which shows just how extraordinarily long the Seven Mile Bridge is. The Seven Mile Bridge is not only long, but it is also known for the beauty of its surrounding scenery. Coral reefs spread out to the sides, making it seem as if it leads to paradise. In fact, it has been used for numerous commercial and film shoots.

Actually, there are two bridges running side-by-side as the Seven Mile Bridge, but only the left side is open to cars. The right side is a railway bridge built from 1909 to 1912 for trains and was in operation from 1913 to 1935. You cannot drive on the right side, but the westernmost 1km (0.6 miles) section of the bridge is open to the public for walking.
