Once inside the living room, Jamie came to a sudden stop. Standing directly in front of him was a tall, broad-shouldered man with a serious expression. The man didn’t move or speak right away, just stared, as if waiting to see Jamie’s reaction. The tension in the air was immediate and sharp.
