Overwhelmed by Fear
The silence outside was deafening, broken only by the occasional creak or gust of wind. Mark sat motionless, his heart pounding louder than any sound around him. Every flicker of a streetlamp or shuffle of a nearby leaf startled him. His thoughts turned inward, questioning whether he’d gone too far in his suspicions.
Still, something deep inside told him this surveillance wasn’t a mistake. He couldn’t ignore the signs, not anymore. With every minute she stayed inside, Mark’s anxiety grew. He fought to remain calm, clinging to hope that the truth—whatever it was—would be something he could understand and confront.
