A Shadow in Pursuit
Without hesitation, Mark got up and quietly followed her, careful not to be seen. He kept a safe distance but didn’t let her out of his sight. Emily walked briskly, pausing occasionally to glance behind her. Mark blended into the background as best he could, following her from street to street with his heart pounding.
The more Mark trailed her, the more determined he became. He had no idea what he would discover, but something about Emily’s behavior felt wrong. The air around him seemed heavier with every step, and he couldn’t shake the sense that he was about to learn something life-altering. Still, he pressed on, determined to uncover the truth.
