Nicole admitted she had limited access to Cathy’s finances and was desperately trying to locate any hidden valuables. “I searched everywhere—drawers, behind picture frames, under the mattress,” she listed in frustration.
“But nothing! There was nothing!” Nicole exclaimed. Detective Harris leaned back, skeptical. “So you resorted to scaring an elderly woman in hopes of finding something that didn’t even exist?” he asked sharply. Nicole meekly nodded, realizing the foolishness of her actions.
