Seasick Surprise

Even the largest and most modern cruise ships can’t eliminate the effects of rough seas. While stabilizers reduce motion, some passengers still experience seasickness, especially on their first day at sea. The swaying and rolling of the ship can cause dizziness, nausea, and discomfort for those unaccustomed to constant movement.

One of the best remedies is to keep your eyes on the horizon, which provides a steady reference point. Medication, wristbands, and fresh air also help. If you’re sensitive to motion, it’s best to book a mid-ship cabin on a lower deck where movement is less noticeable.
