White all over can make a room look dated.
White walls are classic, and a white rug or sofa is definitely a gamble, but classy. But where does it become “too much”? An all-white space can sometimes come across as sterile and cheap. Since a home is best when it’s a comfy and inviting space, going completely white contradicts that. To avoid creating an empty-feeling space, adding pops of color will create a trendier and more luxurious feel.
If you want to come across as someone with good taste, just add one or two white items, like a coffee table or TV stand. Then, use accent colors for the rest of the decor and furniture to add depth to the room.
