The Opera House Bombshell

In 1882, two Balkan noble families attended the same opera premiere. One refused to stand during the other’s entrance, claiming their seat was more prestigious. An altercation broke out in the lobby, resulting in several stabbings and a wave of political retaliation.

Within weeks, militias aligned with each family clashed in the countryside. The opera? A tragic romance — ironically foreshadowing the real-life bloodshed. Nothing says “class war” like violence in velvet seats.
