John grows wary
Emily’s husband, John, couldn’t help but notice the transformation in Max. Each evening, he came home to find the dog stuck to Emily’s side, jittery and alert.
“What’s going on with Max?” he asked one night, concerned. “He’s never been like this before.” He watched as Max constantly scanned the room, muscles tense, as though expecting danger at any moment.
John’s concern deepened with every passing day, the odd behavior too consistent to ignore.
