Bunny on the Hill

In 2005, a drone captured the first aerial image of a strange and enormous pink bunny lying in the hills of Northern Italy’s Piedmont region. This giant plush art piece instantly sparked international curiosity due to its size and surreal appearance. From the sky, its full form could finally be appreciated, turning a bizarre installation into an iconic global sensation. Though odd at first glance, the bunny captivated those who saw it.

The sculpture, named Hase, was over 200 feet long and 20 feet high. It was meant to stay until 2025, but it began to decompose and nearly vanished by 2016. Still, it left behind a legacy of wonder and strangeness. For those lucky enough to capture it with a drone, it became a once-in-a-lifetime view—one that blended nature, humor, and art in the most unexpected way.
