Acrobatic Bench Press


While a slight arch in the back is indeed recommended when bench pressing to stabilize the shoulder blades, what this gym-goer is doing goes far beyond sports medicine recommendations.

His “technique” is more reminiscent of a circus act than strength training. With this extreme backbend, one seriously wonders if he wouldn’t be better off with Cirque du Soleil. Perhaps he should decide between weightlifting and acrobatics – doing both at the same time seems a bit ambitious.
