Sea Assassin: The Australian Box Jellyfish

The Australian Box Jellyfish, found in the waters off Australia, is so venomous it’s often called the “killer jellyfish.” It carries enough venom to kill 60 adults, and there have been cases where children have died within just three minutes of being stung. A sting can paralyze the heart and lungs, posing a risk of drowning if the victim is swimming.

While an antidote exists, it’s often too late as it needs to be administered within 15 minutes to be effective. The only known creature immune to its venom is said to be the Loggerhead Sea Turtle. If you encounter this jellyfish, escaping is incredibly difficult, making it truly one of the ocean’s most formidable creatures.
