Apex Predator of South America
The jaguar is a large feline primarily found in South America, ranking in size only behind tigers and lions. It boasts beautiful rosette patterns on its body, with completely black individuals also occasionally observed. While resembling a leopard in appearance, its skeletal structure is more robust and muscular.
Preferring forests and waterways, the jaguar reigns as the apex predator in the South American jungle. In recent years, due to declining populations, sightings in the wild have become less frequent. However, in zoos, jaguars are highly territorial, and even zookeepers can be at risk if they let their guard down.
