Fun with Shadows
Before cinemas and streaming became widespread, and even before the advent of electricity, people shared stories and discovered art forms like shadow play. Shadow play involves projecting the silhouettes of people or objects placed between a light source and a screen, serving as a means to tell stories.
Beyond just theater, photographers also use this technique to create experimental works. For example, a photo using the shadows of a couple walking their pet on the beach might initially look like an aerial shot, but you’ll realize the technique after a few seconds. There are other works using shadows, but this technique is consistently pleasing to the eye and intriguing.
