17. The Bird Glasses for Nervous Chickens
In the early 20th century, poultry farmers were worried about chickens pecking each other. So naturally, someone invented tiny red-tinted “chicken glasses” that clipped onto their beaks. These stylish specs were supposed to reduce aggression by filtering out the color red.
Instead of calming the birds, the glasses just made them look like tiny, feathery gangsters. Some pecked harder in confusion. Others just walked into things. Despite being a fashion statement in the barnyard, the invention didn’t last long. But hey, at least the chickens got to cosplay The Matrix for a while.
