Loving Support
Michael and Loretta did everything they could to help Cathy adjust. “You’re doing great, Mom,” Michael would often say, doing his best to keep her morale up. They visited every day, sometimes just to check in, other times to drop off a hot meal or fresh groceries.
They even funded minor renovations—adding ramps, widening doorways, and installing a stair lift to make her home safer. Cathy seemed to be doing well, and everyone thought she was adjusting. But beneath the surface, something strange was unfolding, and none of them saw it coming.
