The Potato War
In the late 1770s, Austrian and Prussian forces occupied the same territory during the War of Bavarian Succession. But they were more concerned with finding food than fighting. Most skirmishes ended with troops stealing potatoes and livestock rather than shedding blood.
Though technically a military campaign, few shots were fired. Still, it went down in history as “The Potato War” because food shortages and foraging did more damage than gunfire. War never tasted so… starchy.
