Belgian Malinois
As the name suggests, the Belgian Malinois originates from Belgium and is renowned for its high intelligence, immense energy, and tireless work ethic. Often mistaken for a German Shepherd, it excels particularly in police, military, and protection tasks due to its speed, agility, and extreme focus. However, its strong protective instincts can quickly escalate into aggression—especially towards small children or unfamiliar animals.
With a bite force of 195 PSI, it demands respect and consistent leadership. While its appearance is impressive, the Belgian Malinois is not suitable for inexperienced dog owners. It thrives under firm, experienced guidance and in a structured environment. It’s no wonder it’s a favorite of the military—it’s intelligent, courageous, and extremely driven, but definitely not an easy family dog.
