Not for everyone: Dog breeds with a high risk in the household

Rottweilers, or Rotties as some folks call ’em, are known for bein’ big fellas and their knack for herdin’ livestock. Their natural courage and loyalty to their owners often makes ’em protective, which can be a bit intimidatin’ for strangers and can sometimes lead to aggressive behavior. They’re often seen as guard dogs.

Even though they can be good with kids, it’s important to keep a close eye on things when they’re interactin’, since a Rottweiler might misinterpret rough play as a real threat. Basically, always supervise ’em around the little ones.
