Daydreams Over Tea

As she sipped her tea, Melissa found herself smiling without even realizing it. The warmth of the drink paired with the idea of earning some serious cash had changed her entire mood. She leaned back in the chair, letting her thoughts drift to vacations, shopping sprees, or maybe even saving a bit—things she hadn’t considered when she first walked into the store. The waiting no longer bothered her.

She remained blissfully unaware of what was really going on. In her mind, Mr. Harris’s colleague was en route, ready to offer a second opinion on the ring’s worth. But outside her imagination, something entirely different was unfolding. The person Harris had called was no jeweler, and the visit Melissa thought would end in profit was quickly turning into something much more complicated—and far more serious.
