Long Days of Testing

Over the next several days, the Johnsons made repeated visits to Dr. Morgan’s clinic, their anxiety growing with each trip. Nyx behaved well during every test, making the process smooth but no less unsettling. He cooperated calmly through scans, samples, and physical checks—yet no one could explain what he truly was.

The vet’s office became a second home for the family, who spent hours awaiting results. “We have to get to the bottom of this,” Mr. Johnson said. Dr. Morgan did his best to provide updates: “We should know something soon,” he promised. But suspense continued to stretch endlessly.
