It might be surprising since we’re taught that fruits are good for you and can replace unhealthy foods. While grapefruit *is* healthy, it can be a real problem if you’re taking medication. Grapefruit interferes with how your body absorbs medicine. It contains compounds that affect the enzymes that break down drugs, which can lead to higher concentrations in your bloodstream.
