Belgian Malinois

As the name suggests, the Belgian Malinois originated in Belgium and is known for its sharp intelligence, high energy, and unwavering work ethic. Often mistaken for the German Shepherd, this breed excels in police, military, and protection roles thanks to its speed, agility, and intense focus. However, their strong protective instincts can quickly turn into aggression, especially towards small children or unfamiliar animals.

With a bite force measured at 195 PSI, they demand respect and careful handling. While undeniably impressive in appearance, Malinois are not ideal for inexperienced owners. They thrive under firm, experienced leadership and in structured environments. It’s no wonder they’re a favorite breed of the military—they’re bright, brave, and incredibly driven, but definitely not a casual family companion.
