Seven Mile Bridge (USA)
The Seven Mile Bridge is located in Florida, USA, and boasts an impressive length of 6.76 miles (10.887 km). To put that into perspective, Japan’s longest bridge, the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, is only 2.75 miles (4,425m) long, highlighting just how extraordinary the Seven Mile Bridge is. Beyond its sheer length, the Seven Mile Bridge is also renowned for the stunning scenery that surrounds it. The coral reefs stretching out on both sides of the bridge create a paradise-like vista, making it a popular location for commercials and film shoots.
Interestingly, there are actually two bridges that make up the Seven Mile Bridge. One is the bridge on the left that is used by cars. The bridge on the right is a historic railroad bridge constructed between 1909 and 1912, which carried trains from 1913 to 1935. While it’s no longer open to vehicular traffic, about 0.6 miles (1 km) of the western section of the bridge is open to the public, allowing pedestrians to freely stroll and enjoy the views.
