Welcomed With Open Arms

Despite having little formal practice recently, Alan was welcomed onto the team like an old friend. His new teammates greeted him with claps on the back, cheerful words, and encouragement that set a positive, almost electric tone. “Glad to have you, Alan,” one player said, extending a firm handshake and a grin. It wasn’t pity or obligation—they were genuinely excited to have him join.

As Alan suited up and warmed up, I noticed how calm and focused he looked. His presence on the field didn’t seem like a fluke—it felt earned. There was something about the way he stood there, ready to prove himself again, that made me realize just how far his journey had come. This wasn’t a second chance; this was Alan taking what he’d always deserved, and the energy around him made it clear: he belonged here.
