Belgian Malinois
As the name suggests, the Belgian Malinois hails from Belgium and is known for its high intelligence, boundless energy, and relentless work ethic. Often mistaken for the German Shepherd, it excels in police, military, and protection roles due to its speed, agility, and extreme focus. However, its strong protective instincts can quickly turn into aggression – especially towards small children or unfamiliar animals.
With a bite force of 195 PSI, it demands respect and consistent leadership. While its appearance is impressive, the Belgian Malinois is not suitable for novice dog owners. It thrives under firm, experienced guidance and in a structured environment. It’s no wonder it’s a favorite of the military – it’s intelligent, courageous, and extremely driven, but definitely not your average family dog.
