Men Smeared Chicken Poop on Their Heads to Combat Hair Loss

Hair loss has always been a sensitive subject – and in the 16th century, people resorted to some truly questionable “remedies.” One particularly odd method involved mixing chicken poop with potassium and slathering this stinky concoction onto the scalp.

This sticky, foul-smelling lotion was supposedly meant to encourage hair growth – but, of course, it didn’t work. Instead of a full head of hair, the men were simply left smelling bad, disappointed, and still bald.
