Bullish Madness
Stepping into a closed ring where an angry, nearly ton-heavy bull is raging is bordering on madness. Rodeo clowns consider themselves brave enough to face this imposing animal. But this act seems more crazy than heroic. It almost seems like they’re thinking, “Alright, I’m gonna risk my life for a little fun and a dash of insanity. What could possibly go wrong?” Clearly, they must have an unusually large fascination with risk – and with horns – to expose themselves to such a dangerous situation.
In fact, their role requires not only physical courage but also exceptional speed and presence of mind. They dance on the edge of what’s possible, always ready to react in a split second. Their job is a critical part of the rodeo; they not only protect the riders but also provide a show that is as terrifying as it is fascinating. Seen in this light, the lines between madness and courage blur as the rodeo clowns operate in an arena full of risks and adrenaline.
