A Friend’s Idea
Laura’s cheeks turned red, and her friend noticed right away. “What’s going on?” she asked. Laura smiled nervously and told her about her old preschool best friend—and how she once thought she might marry him someday. To her surprise, her friend got very excited.
Before Laura could protest, her friend began scheming. She thought it was fate and insisted on reconnecting them. Laura wasn’t sure if this was a good idea. Could someone you barely remembered from childhood still matter so many years later? She didn’t think so. But her friend did.
