The Immortal Bridge (China)
The Immortal Bridge, located in the Yellow Mountains (Huangshan) in eastern China, is renowned for its beauty as well as its height. This bridge is made of stone, and while there’s no real danger of falling, crossing it definitely requires some courage. The name “Immortal Bridge” comes from the desire for its permanence and enduring nature.
Until 1987, there was no bridge in this location, and people had to traverse a very difficult path, resulting in many losing their lives along the way. The construction of the Immortal Bridge allowed for safe passage, and the area is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. While it offers stunning views, those with a fear of heights should be cautious.
