Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (Ireland)

The Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It’s 20 meters long and about 30 meters (roughly equivalent to a 9-story building) above the rocks. This bridge is a popular tourist attraction, drawing around 200,000 visitors annually, and approximately 480,000 in 2018.

The bridge was originally used by salmon fishermen. It’s said that they used to catch 300 salmon a day in the 1960s. However, by 2002, catching 300 salmon in a whole season was a struggle, and it’s no longer in use for fishing. Weather permitting, it’s generally open year-round, and you can cross it for a fee.
