Back in the 1800s, dentures made from real human teeth were considered the bee’s knees when it came to replacing lost chompers – especially if you were rolling in dough. After battles like

Waterloo, grave robbers would snatch teeth from fallen soldiers and flog ’em to dentists. These gruesome souvenirs became known as “Waterloo teeth.”

These days, the thought of rocking a dead soldier’s teeth in your mouth is enough to make your stomach churn – but back then, it was just business, plain and simple. For the well-to-do, a mouthful of someone else’s pearly whites was a way better option than going gumming it.
