The Haunted Refrigerator
In Michigan, a terrified caller rang 911 because she believed her refrigerator was haunted. She claimed it was “humming sinisterly,” had moved three inches overnight, and might be “possessed by a poltergeist.” Despite the dispatcher’s attempt to suggest calling an appliance repair service, the woman insisted she was in danger.
When officers arrived, they discovered the appliance was just on an uneven floor and vibrating from a loose motor. No ghost, just bad flooring. The woman reportedly apologized but asked the officers to “bless the fridge anyway, just in case.”
