The Disappearing Remote
In Florida, a man frantically called 911 after losing his TV remote. He claimed it had “vanished” and suspected a break-in. Despite the dispatcher’s skepticism, the man was insistent that someone had entered his house and stolen only the remote, leaving everything else untouched.
Police responded and found the remote in the man’s refrigerator. Apparently, he had absentmindedly placed it there while grabbing a beer. No burglars, just beer-induced forgetfulness—and a very confused officer.
