The Department of Homeland Security Was Born on Air Force One

You may not know that Air Force One has children. But it’s not another plane, it’s an entire government department. The Department of Homeland Security was created while President Bush was returning from a trip to Berlin on Air Force One. Created in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, it has since been responsible for counter-terrorism, immigration, border security, cybersecurity, and more.
