A Quiet Conversation
Back at the hospital, the father found the nurse who had been present during the delivery and asked if they could talk privately. She followed him to a quiet hallway where he opened up about his unease. “I know it sounds strange,” he admitted, “but I need to ask you about anything that might’ve gone wrong.”
The nurse listened with a serious expression, nodding as he spoke. After a pause, she said, “Nothing stands out to me from that night.” But he wasn’t satisfied. Leaning in, he pleaded, “Please, think carefully. Even the smallest thing could help me understand.”
