What exactly did the photographer capture here? Whatever it is, this grab by the referee on the player doesn’t look like a regular play. Maybe he just wanted to adjust the clothing – but those kinds of checks usually happen before the game, not in the middle of the stadium filled with fans.
Presumably, there’s an entertaining story behind the scene, but we’ll probably never know it. One thing’s for sure: the moment calls for a chuckle. Although: A real foul here should definitely have resulted in a send-off.
