Many of the stories we see in movies and novels have a strong element of fantasy. In these mediums, reality can be embellished and altered to some extent, left to the creator’s imagination and judgment. However, the world of fiction is not entirely unrelated to reality. Sometimes, these dreamlike ideas take shape in the real world.
In 2012, French artist Olivier Grossetête sought to turn just such a dream into reality. He created a rope bridge that floats in the air thanks to three giant helium balloons – the “Pont de Singe Bridge”. Theoretically, the structure could withstand the weight of people, but the bridge was created more as a work of art to delight the eyes. Seeing the fairytale-like scene will evoke a heartwarming feeling that will make even adults feel like children again.
