Elephants
Many people likely have an image of elephants as gentle and intelligent creatures. This is because they are herbivores and we generally don’t hear stories of them causing harm. However, in reality, elephants can become aggressive and attack if their path is blocked. Furthermore, their temperament tends to become more volatile when they have young. In areas where elephants live, it’s reported that one person falls victim each day. But there’s a reason for this.
Due to population growth, human living areas have encroached upon elephant migration routes. Elephant-related incidents seem to be occurring along what are known as elephant corridors, which are routes elephants use to travel across India. Incidentally, the number of elephants attacked by poachers is greater than the number of people attacked by elephants.
