Crocodiles
As their appearance suggests, if a human is attacked by a crocodile, there’s little chance of survival. It’s said that crocodiles claim approximately 1,000 victims annually. Crocodiles are widely distributed across various regions, including Africa, Australia, southern Eurasia, and the Caribbean islands. While there are different types, they are broadly categorized into the Alligatoridae and Crocodylidae families.
Among them, saltwater crocodiles and Nile crocodiles, which belong to the Crocodylidae family, are large and ferocious. However, it might be surprising, but crocodiles are generally timid. They usually wouldn’t attack humans in the water, but due to overfishing and a resulting lack of food, they sometimes come into shallow waters in search of sustenance and may attack in such situations.
