No surprises here: soda is bad for you. Actually, it’s bad for *everyone*, not just folks over 60. But that being said, it’s especially rough on the over-60 crowd. The older you get, the riskier soda becomes. Soda’s basically just loaded with sugar and empty calories. It can easily start contributing big-time to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Plus, that sugar overload can cause blood sugar spikes, which puts a strain on your cardiovascular system.

To avoid these kinda problems, it’s best to ditch soda altogether, or at least keep your intake way down. There are way healthier options out there, like water, tea, or fruit juice.
