Alien Eggs


Honestly, if you live in Japan, you probably wouldn’t find this creepy. And you’d probably know exactly what this photo is. It’s a picture of a napa cabbage field. Napa cabbages are kept like this, not harvested all at once, to maintain their freshness. The outer leaves might get a little damaged, but the inside stays perfectly fresh. However, to people overseas, it seems like alien remains or bizarre, giant eggs waiting to hatch.

In the US, napa cabbages aren’t sold in every supermarket, so many people might not be familiar with them. It’s easy to see how some people might mistake them for chicory, given their similar shape.
