The Beginning of Life

Nadia Suleman was born on July 11, 1975, in Fullerton, California. Her father, of Assyrian and Iraqi descent, later became a real estate agent. Her mother was a teacher from Lithuania, and Nadia was an only child. Her parents loved her deeply, but it seems she still yearned for more connection with others. Growing up in a small family might have been what sparked her desire for a large family later on.

Being an only child gave Nadia a unique perspective. While the love from her parents was unconditional, it wasn’t enough to fulfill her, and she longed to build a wider network of relationships. This desire likely led to her bold choices later in life. Her childhood experiences laid the foundation for her strong attachment to the concept of family, eventually leading her to become “Octomom.”
