Back in the 1700s, thick, dramatic eyebrows were all the rage, but eyebrow pencils weren’t a thing yet. So, loads of women would rock these little patches made from actual mouse skin. They’d stick ’em on their face to fake a set of lush, perfect brows.

What was considered chic and trendy back then just seems straight-up gross now. But at the time, those mouse-skin brows were a total status symbol. Just another example of how far people would go for beauty, no matter how freakin’ bizarre it seems today.
