Iconic names like Screaming Eagle and Château Lafite dominate the luxury wine scene, which is celebrated for their craftsmanship and heritage. In contrast, some newer Chinese wines entering the market face harsh criticism, with accusations of being artificial or even outright fake.

Wine expert Jeremy Oliver has suggested that a significant portion of Chinese wines priced above $35 may not be authentic. As China tries to establish its place in the premium wine world, concerns about quality and authenticity continue to raise eyebrows among experts and collectors alike.
